NEPAL AIDS LIFE CARE PROJECT
NEEDS AND ISSUES
UNICEF, UNAID and USAID together estimate 13,000 children in Nepal orphaned as a result of HIV and a further 111,000 children affected through HIV infected family members.
Recent estimates of people living with HIV in Nepal indicate that 41% of HIV cases are among labour migrants to India and 21% are wives or partners of HIV positive returning migrants in the rural regions, mostly in western Nepal.
HIV is a big issue in Western Nepal, the HIV/AIDS victims losing hope and purpose in life and facing stigma and discrimination every day. AIDS Infected and affected children are out of schools due to financial difficulties. They have lost one or both parents, and do not have access to basic nutritious food, medicine and proper clothing.
Life Care Society is partnering with Uddhar Nepal (an associate NGO) to reach out to these AIDS infected and affected families, children and orphans in the villages of Western Nepal. We wish to help them from desolation through a holistic approach to bring about hope and life transformation.
